It's
time to mark your
calendars for the
Hattiesburg Area
Association of
REALTORS' Fund
Raiser benefitting
the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of
Mississippi.
This event will be
a fun-filled night
of Entertainment,
Live and Silent
Auctions, Raffles
and great food!
Our event is set
for Thursday,
Sept. 22, 2011 at
the Hattiesburg
Cultural Center in
Downtown
Hattiesburg.
Tickets
for the event will
be $20.00 per
person or $35.00
per couple.
I
am asking for your
support of
this project and these
special children
by being a sponsor
or donating an
item for the
auctions. We
will need every
member's help for
this worthwhile
event.
The
mission of the
Make-A-Wish
Foundation is to
grant the wishes
of children with
life threatening
medical conditions
in hopes of
enriching the
human experience
of hope, strength
and joy.
With the help of
wonderful
sponsors,
supporters and
volunteers, the
Make-A-Wish
Foundation of
Mississippi has
granted 12 wishes
for deserving
children in the
Pine Belt this
past year.
The money that we
raise from this
event not only
stays in
Mississippi, but
will be used to
help grant the
wishes of more
children right
here in the Pine
Belt area.

NAR
Dues Increase
Passes -
Start
Paying Your 2012
Dues Now!
The
National
Association of
REALTORS'®
Board of
Directors voted
at its Mid-Year
meeting in
Washington, D.C.
on May 14 to
increase by $40
their portion of annual
dues. That
means their
portion will go
from $80 to
$120.
According to NAR
President Ron
Phipps, "The
initiative will
allow NAR to
provide millions
of dollars in
additional
support to state
and local
boards, which
are facing a
cadre of policy
proposals that
would restrict
private property
rights and drain
home owners'
pocketbooks.
"As
the only
organization
speaking on
behalf of
America's home
owners, NAR must
remain strong
and influential
at all levels of
government. In
passing this
initiative,
REALTORS® send
a clear message
that we are
ready and
willing to
protect the home
owners and
communities we
serve."
For
those of you
that have voiced
your opinions
about all the
dues and fees that
come due in
December, we
want to provide
you with some
options.
You can pay your
2012 dues
beginning now by
the week, month,
quarter, or
however you can
pay. Pay a
small portion at
a time and we
will credit you
for 2012 dues.
At this time, we
do not know if
there will be an
increase in MAR
or HAAR dues for
2012. But
you may pay
toward the
amount that was
charged for 2011
which was
$409.50 and pay
the rest by the
due date.
