"Totes for Hope"
HAAR will be collecting gift cards and also travel size toiletries for victims of Hurricane Harvey. We are asking that everyone fill a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with toiletry and hygiene items. Each bag will be stuffed inside a blue tote, provided courtesy of Florida REALTORS®, and then shipped to Texas for distribution in the shelters. Please call us for a list of items to donate. You can bring your filled Ziploc bags to the HAAR Building on Wednesday Sept. 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. HAAR Staff and Community Service Committee will pack each into a blue drawstring tote bag for shipping. Or, if you would like to donate a gift card, (preferably a Visa or Mastercard), you can drop off at the HAAR Building, Deep South Title, 6635 Hwy. 98 W, Suite 100, or Wesley Breland's office, 6082 U.S. Hwy. 49 (across from Forrest General Hospital) .

This week, the United States Senate voted to pass a three-month extension of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The House of Representatives is expected pass the legislation on Friday, September 8, 2017 and the President is expected to quickly sign the bill into law later in the day.
This legislation ensures that the NFIP will not lapse on September 30, 2017. NAR will continue their legislative advocacy efforts for the 21st Century Flood Reform Act until this long-term reauthorization and reform bill is enacted.
